More than twenty of the industry’s top designers, including Silhouette and American Optical, donated the actual frames they submitted to this year’s NOW Awards. Every dollar raised funds GoodVision’s work in 11 countries.
Some of the best eyewear designers in the world just gave away the very pieces that earned them recognition this year. Silhouette, American Optical, TURA, and more than twenty other brands and independent designers from around the world donated the actual frames they submitted to this year’s NOW Awards, the eyewear industry’s top design honor, so an online auction could send every dollar raised straight to GoodVision’s work in 11 countries.
The auction was Nico Roseillier’s idea. He is the founder of UN-TI-TLED Creative Agency and the director of the NOW Awards, which he runs each year through the Vision Council. This year’s edition was the first ever open to the entire global optical community, and it drew an unusually strong response: designers who had already won recognition for their work decided to give it away for something bigger.
“This auction gives those frames a second story,” Roseillier said. “The work of our industry’s most creative designers will now fund access to glasses for people who have never had them.”
GoodVision’s relationship with the NOW Awards started at Vision Expo 2025, when GoodVision USA received the NOW Optical Achievement Award. Recognition like that is what put us on Roseillier’s radar, and it led directly to this auction.
Matt Gianino, GoodVision USA’s Executive Director, put it simply. “A well-designed frame turns heads,” he said. “We hope this auction does the same for the vision gap.”
A few of the pieces up for bid are pictured here. Behind each one is a technician somewhere in Malawi, Nepal, or Peru who will use the proceeds to fit someone with glasses for the first time in their life.
Bidding is open now through October 14 at goodvision.betterworld.org/auctions/now-goodvision.
